MOSCOW, Aug 12 (PRIME) -- The Association of Air Transport Users (AEVT) has asked Transport Minister Yevgeny Ditrikh to check whether the current jet fuel price jump is justified, according to a letter published on the website of the organization.
"The Russian association of air transport users is addressing you on an issue of a sharp growth of jet kerosene price in the airports of the Russian Federation for the forthcoming period of August–September 2020," the letter read.
The prices rose by 62.1% in the Koltsovo airport, 33.4% in the Domodedovo airport, 36% in Zhukovsky, 18% in St. Petersburg, 20.4% in Vladivostok, 21.1% in Blagoveshchensk, 28.1% in Irkutsk, 48.4% in Krasnodar, 48.6% in Krasnoyarsk, as compared with the tenders held by the airlines for July 2020.
The growth wipes out the effect of government support to the airlines, the association said.
